Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

CLIMA TERRA is an open-data, bilingual climate platform created by Alfonso Rodríguez (@alfonsoAIData). It works without registration and does not collect personal information.

1. Data usage

The application may request your approximate location only if you explicitly allow it. All processing happens locally on your device. CLIMA TERRA does not store, sell, or transmit personal data.

2. Data transparency

Data origins and interpretation criteria are detailed in Sources and transparency. This policy is limited to technical processing and privacy.

3. Cookies

The site does not use cookies or tracking technologies. The hosting provider (Netlify) may collect anonymous operational metrics.

4. Local storage

The browser may store minimal preferences such as language selection and, during the session, whether you accepted or dismissed the location invitation. These values are never used for analytics or profiling, and coordinates are not stored.

Location and permissions

CLIMA TERRA first explains why location is requested. Only after you select “Continue” does it invoke the native browser or operating-system request, which controls the permission. Approximate location is used once to retrieve climate and environmental data for the area; coordinates are not stored and continuous tracking is not performed.

Locations received through a URL

When a link includes coordinates, they are used for the requested query. CLIMA TERRA does not store those coordinates or create cookies or profiles through this feature.

Providers and external links

Required queries are sent to Open-Meteo to obtain weather and environmental data and to OpenStreetMap / Nominatim to search for or describe locations. External links that users choose to open lead to sites with their own privacy policies.
